Exploring My Own Backyard: The Majestic Mt. Evans

SDC14008

It’s a little late, but I may have possibly had the best weekend ever…

I certainly don’t know if I’ve ever felt more Coloradoan than I did Saturday when me and my man-friend paid Mt. Evans a visit. We’d been talking about going for awhile now, so we were totally stoked to finally make it happen!ย After stocking up on a little green herb (from the best dispensary in town, ask me about it) and food/water for lunch, we headed straight to Idaho Springs. After an amazing detour, full of sweet surprises, we made our way up the mountain and we definitely weren’t let down!

The views were simply stunning.

None of the pictures will do the mountain justice, but I thought I’d share a few of my favorites with you.

Let me know what you think!

Where should I explore next?

  1. Oh god, that fog is FANTASTIC! The rock pic has solid composition too. Thanks for sharing these! If I wasn’t selling my car, I’d be inspired to drive out to see this with my own peepers!

  2. We haven’t been to Mt. Evans yet, maybe next summer. Have you done Trail Ridge Rd. in RMNP? That’s quite something. We’ve traveled a bit since we moved here, and we really liked Salida.

  3. Your shots of Summit Lake are beautiful. Were the mountain goats running around? My daughter and I loved watching them meander around the top. Next summer, be sure and check out the San Juans. Jeeping and hiking around Ouray is awesome ๐Ÿ™‚
